10 Days Amboseli - Mount Kenya - Samburu - Lake Nakuru and Masai Mara Safari

Day 01: Nairobi – Amboseli National Parkhttp://www.kws.go.ke/amboseli-national-park 

Depart Nairobi for Amboseli national park, lunch followed by afternoon game viewing drives .This provides a chance to see Elephants, Lions, Buffalo, Hippos, a wide variety of Bird Life and many other plains game. Dinner and sleep at Kibo Safari Luxury Tented Camp or Sentrim Amboseli Luxury Tented Camp.

Day 02: Amboseli National Park. http://www.kws.go.ke/amboseli-national-park Full day spent in Amboseli national park, famous for its wild game and spectacular backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Here you will have the chance to see the Big Five while enjoying the comforts of your game drive. The day is comprised of two game drives, one in the morning and one in the early evening. Your driver's keen eyes will come in handy while exploring the countryside. Accommodation at Kibo luxury tented or Lodge.

Day 03: Amboseli National Park – Mount Kenya. Depart Amboseli for Mount Kenya found in the area of Central Part of Kenya via Nairobi for picnic lunch. The drive takes about 8 hours from Amboseli to Mount Kenya through the beautiful surroundings as you get into the Kikuyu Farmlands along the way where one can see pineapple and coffee plantations. Time permitting, a nature walk into Mount Kenya Forest – Mau Mau Caves. Dinner and sleep at Simbas Lodge.

Day 04: Mount Kenya – Samburu Game Reserve. 
Early breakfast then drive north to Samburu where the climate is drier and the land is semi-desert. Spend the next two days exploring the Samburu Game Reserve. Keep your camera and binoculars ready, as the wildlife is plentiful. See the thin-striped Grevy's Zebra, reticulated Giraffe, blue-necked Somali ostrich and Beisa Oryx, all species only found north of the equator. The long-necked Gerenuk, a graceful antelope, spends most of its time here in a bi-pedal stance seeking succulent leaves. Accommodation at Samburu Sopa lodge.

Day 05: Samburu. Full day spent in Samburu with early morning and afternoon game viewing in this reserve, which covers 40 square miles (104 square kilometers). Ololokwe Table Mountain forms a dramatic backdrop to our game viewing. Samburu is also home to the third of Kenya's giraffe species - the Reticulated Giraffe. This is also our best chance to see the blue-legged Somali Ostrich, the long-necked Gerenuk gazelle and the straight-horned Beisa Oryx antelope. Accommodation at Samburu Sopa lodge. 

Day 06: Samburu Game Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park. http://www.kws.go.ke/lake-nakuru-national-park 
Depart after breakfast past the northern tip of the Aberdare Mountains to descend into the Great Rift Valley where Lake Nakuru is located [Picnic Lunch enroute]. Lake Nakuru is a shallow strongly alkaline lake set in a picturesque landscape of surrounding woodland and grassland and is home to thousands of Flamingoes, Buffalo, Lions, Zebra, Giraffe & other animal & Bird Species. On arrival check into hotel Genevieve (budget). Afterwards proceed on for an evening game drive and afterwards return for dinner and sleep at the Chester hotel or Lake Nakuru lodge.

Day 07: Lake Nakuru National Park- Masai Mara Game Reserve. 
After breakfast depart for the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve driving through the spectacular Great Rift Valley. Plain game can be found here in staggering numbers that in turn supports a tremendous predator population. You arrive for lunch at the campsite. Later an evening game drive which provides you with an opportunity to see herds of buffaloes, lions, impalas, giraffes, elephants and other wildlife. Accommodation at Manyatta camp or lodge.

Day 07: Masai Mara. Full day at the Mara with a with a game drive from sunrise and sundowner providing greatest moments for game viewing in these mystic plains, a time where the soft red hues of the sun will give your photographs the clarity of the actual African savannah. Morning game viewing with drive to the Mara River where you will be able to view wildebeest migration as well as the resident hippos and crocodiles. Accommodation at Manyatta camp or lodge.

Optional visit to Masai Village for a cultural tour can be arranged - $20 per person. Also optional hot air balloon ride can be arranged this morning, then proceed with your game drive - $430 per person.

Day 09: Masai Mara Game Reserve. Early breakfast & depart the campsite with picnic lunch for full day game drives. The game drive extends to Mara River – hippo point where lunch is enjoyed. There after proceed on the game drive in search of many other plains game. Accommodation at the camp or lodge.

Day 10: Masai Mara – Nairobi. Morning game drive and later depart with picnic lunch enroute back to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon.
